The Sawtooth Relay is a run/walk relay from Stanley to Ketchum, Idaho. The total distance is 69.1 miles shared by 6 team members. As one of our team members runs/walks, the rest will drive to the next finish/start area. Visit sawtoothrelay.com for complete information.
RACE DATE: SATURDAY JUNE 9, 2012

OUR TEAM - Coed Open
Keely Eliason - Team Captain
Eric Eliason, Jamie Zotts, Beth Stuart, Reid Stillman & Ramie Dennehy
And Twyla our volunteer who will work parts of the race!

OUR GOAL
Our goal is to raise money for Zac Gilstrap’s recovery and rehabilitation needs. Nearly 3 years ago Zac was blindsided by Marburg Variant Disease. This is a very aggressive form of MS where the disease advances very quickly and relentlessly. It paralyzed Zac both physically and mentally. Zac’s first MRI showed a 5 inch lesion on his spine and a couple of massive lesions on the right side of his brain. Since this disease is so rare and there are no known survivors, Zac and his family have been put through 3 years of the unimaginable. Zac’s family has had to take over his care 100%, not just while at home but while at the hospitals, making sure the doctors and nurses have Zac’s best interest. On Several occasions Zac’s mother had to fight for treatments started by one doctor, then ignored by another. Fortunately Zac’s family never gave up and he is making an incredible recovery. Zac has regained the use of his right arm and right leg, and is starting to move his left arm and leg. He is regaining some old memories and his short term memory is improving. He is now engaging in conversations, can add like crazy, play Yatzhee, Wii bowling & other games. He loves Uno, feeds himself, and asks for things. This has all been in the last 6 weeks. He dreams of the day he can play his guitar again. Zac does horse therapy & has an amazing OT that comes 2 hours a week. Specifically, we would love to raise at least $3300 for a standing table. It would allow Zac to stand while it supports his body and helps with blood circulation. We invite you to read Zac’s full story which we have attached.
